With Romeo Is a Dead Man now out, Suda51 also confirmed that another, still-secret project is set to release sometime in 2026.
Grasshopper Manufacture aired another Grasshopper Direct, this time tied to Romeo Is a Dead Man. The studio runs these broadcasts fairly often, but this episode was positioned as a special one because the game launched today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
During the show, Goichi Suda (aka Suda51) went beyond the launch talk and confirmed that the team plans to ship more than one title in 2026. According to Suda, an additional game is on the way – and it has not even been announced yet.
“We actually have a surprise announcement for you in this Grasshopper Direct. It’s almost 100 percent certain that we’ll release one more game in 2026. What kind of game? When can we announce it? We’re not sure yet, but if you wait a little longer, I think we’ll be able to make an announcement soon. Keep watching events, media, and videos like this one. Sooner or later, we’ll have that big announcement ready for you. Please keep an eye out and look forward to it,” Suda said.
Suda also addressed questions about a physical release and a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Romeo Is a Dead Man. On the boxed edition, he said the team is currently talking to multiple companies to make it happen, but asked for more time before they can lock anything in. He added that the same applies to Switch 2: they are working toward it, but there is nothing final to announce yet.
“The packaged version everyone is asking about… In the industry, we call it a ‘physical version.’ Anyway, lots of people have requested a physical version. We’re currently in talks with several companies to try to release a physical version, and we’re doing whatever we can to make it happen. Please wait a little longer for this as well. We’ll announce it as soon as it’s finalized, so we appreciate your patience. The same goes for the Switch 2 version. We’re doing what we can to make it happen. Again, please give us a little more time,” Suda added.
In other words, the studio has not walked away from Nintendo Switch 2 support, and Romeo Is a Dead Man could still end up on Nintendo’s new platform later on. The bigger mystery is the second 2026 release – what it is, and how soon Grasshopper Manufacture will finally reveal it.
