Two free games. One of them is a dystopian noir where you’ll be hunting a serial killer. Epic Games is currently giving away Nobody Wants to Die and The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark. You can claim both on the Epic Games Store until February 19.
Once again, Epic Games is pulling players back to its PC store with a pair of freebies. This time, the people behind Fortnite are aiming straight at sci-fi fans and detective-adventure lovers by handing out Nobody Wants to Die and The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark. And if neither of those does it for you, a completely different kind of adventure is lined up for next week.
Epic Games‘ terms for grabbing free titles haven’t changed, but it’s still worth a quick reminder. Players get seven days – a full week – to claim Nobody Wants to Die and The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark via the Epic Games Store app or website. Put simply, both games are free starting today and remain available until February 19 at 4:59 PM (Spanish Peninsula Time).
Now let’s get into what each game actually offers. Nobody Wants to Die takes players to the year 2329, dropping them into a dystopian New York to follow Detective James Karra, who is willing to risk everything to catch a serial killer targeting the city’s elite. It’s pitched as a high-tech investigative experience where you track down a dangerous criminal while uncovering the darkest secrets of the people running the place.
The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark also revolves around a police investigation, but it goes for a much more comedic, lighthearted vibe. Detective McQueen heads into a cursed town called Twin Lakes to solve six cases filled with unexplained happenings and paranormal elements. On the mechanics side, it’s a point-and-click adventure packed with sharp dialogue and classic puzzles.
One More Gift for Next Week
If you’re after different adventures (or you simply want to pad out your PC library), you’ll need to wait until February 19 to claim the next free title on the Epic Games Store. The company has already revealed what’s coming, and players will get the chance to pick up the more reflective Return to Ash, which will be offered alongside the STALCRAFT: X Starter Pack.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection arrives in stores on March 13. You’ll be able to play it on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
