As the World Changes, Shared Experience Endures: Unicum’s New Film Debuts with a Universe-Spanning Journey [VIDEO]

Zwack Unicum is reaching a visual and technological milestone this spring. The brand’s latest film is not just an ad, but a cinematic, generation-spanning journey where the mystique of 2000s adventure films meets state-of-the-art AI technology.

On March 9, Zwack Unicum premiered its latest brand film, closing a chapter as it replaces the highly successful Felemelő pillanatok concept that ran for four years. The new film, centered on shared experiences and intergenerational connection, was produced with the familiar Zwack expertise and to the highest quality standards. Its core message is that in today’s rapidly changing world – and amid constant digital noise – the greatest challenge can be the absence of permanence. Zwack argues that shared experiences and rituals offer a real answer: those moments form the invisible fabric of our society, linking past and future across generations, and creating stability and continuity in everyday life.

In scale and visual craft, the production stands out: at its premiere, audiences did not encounter a conventional commercial, but the spectacle and technical ambition of a true cinematic experience. The dramatic center of the film is “connection”, bringing together generations and seemingly very different characters into a single shared moment. The catalyst is the Unicum bottle itself: the instant the characters reach for it at the same time, a grand visual journey begins, as they find themselves teleported into different worlds and unforgettable moments. The chosen settings carry deep symbolism – the jungle represents authentic origins, the desert an timeless essence, and space the brand’s boundlessness, bridging physical reality and imagination. The message is clear: however much we may differ, the Unicum experience links us through an invisible bond. The campaign highlights that even in a fast-changing world, the brand remains a reliable reference point, filling everyday life with meaning and shared memories.

“The story of Unicum has always been about balancing tradition and innovation, and I believe this new film reflects that duality perfectly. It was especially important for us to use the most modern visual solutions to show that Unicum is not only part of our past, but also one of the most important points of connection in our present. Whether it’s friendly conversations or family moments that span generations, shared experience is what creates real value. This new film is a kind of tribute to friendships and communities, reinforcing the idea that while the world may change, the experience of quality and belonging will remain timeless for us,” said Sándor Zwack, President of Zwack Unicum Nyrt., about the new campaign.

During production, the team combined physical sets with digital extensions, showcasing cutting-edge techniques used in Hungarian commercial filmmaking. Some of the monumental backdrops were created with the help of artificial intelligence, while iconic locations – such as the pillar of the Chain Bridge – were brought to life through 3D modeling and LED-wall technology. Alongside these digital innovations, the crew used large-format cameras and anamorphic lenses to preserve a cinematic look and an analog-like texture. This deliberate visual construction ensures that CGI is not a self-serving spectacle, but serves the dramaturgy and the dynamics of each scene, while also setting the film apart aesthetically from conventional television work.

The film’s emotional arc and momentum are completed by “Leave the world behind”, written specifically for the campaign by Gergő Szakács (Follow The Flow), guiding viewers from early excitement to intimate family moments. The world-building is further enriched by carefully placed easter eggs: attentive viewers can spot hidden nods that evoke the atmosphere of earlier Unicum films or the mysterious universe of Jenő Rejtő, paying tribute to the brand’s century-spanning heritage.

Zwack Unicum’s new brand film – and the exclusive music production created for it – can already be viewed on the brand’s official YouTube channel.
