When it comes to Naughty Dog‘s next game, let’s not count our chickens before they hatch. The fact that it’s popped up on the PlayStation website doesn’t mean anything on its own.
The game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has also been given its own subpage on the PlayStation website. There, it asks: What exactly is this game? In the game, players must escape Sempiria in Naughty Dog‘s new franchise. The story takes place thousands of years in the future. Players step into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter stranded on a distant planet called Sempiria. He will need all his skills and wits to become the first person in over 600 years to leave the planet’s orbit.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been in development since 2020. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross composed the music to accompany the adventure. Neil Druckmann‘s team started working on this new IP after the original PlayStation 4 release of The Last of Us Part II. Since then, the studio has worked on a PlayStation 5 remake/remaster of The Last of Us Parts I and II and planned to turn the Factions game mode, which was originally omitted from The Last of Us Part II, into a live service title. However, The Last of Us Online was ultimately canceled.
The fact that it’s listed on the official PlayStation website doesn’t mean anything. It’s not on the PlayStation Store. It’s been on the PS site for at least a year — you could find it as far back as January 2025 — and they take it down and put it back up. But it’s unclear what we can really make of that, for example, like when someone on Reddit got ahead of themselves regarding Naughty Dog‘s new game. For example, someone on Reddit got ahead of themselves regarding Naughty Dog‘s new game.
One thing is certain, though: the studio should talk more about it this year. After all, they started working on it back in 2020.
