Clover Bite and Kwalee certainly did not rush to announce that their Metroidvania title Grime II would be coming to more than just PC. The sequel to the 2021 surreal action-adventure was previously set for a computer-only launch, but it has now been confirmed that it will also arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on the very same day.
Become a stealer of forms in Grime II, the follow-up to the 2021 surreal action-adventure Metroidvania. Launch tendrils shaped from hands to absorb enemies and summon molds in their likeness as you explore a bizarre yet vibrant world obsessed with art. You play as a Formless, a creature that mimics art by devouring other beings and calling forth mold creations that take on their shapes. Venture into a new and mysterious land within the Grime universe, where danger and wonder wait around every corner. Use your surroundings and your summoned molds together to overcome deadly foes and towering bosses while uncovering a deep world filled with diverse cultures and memorable characters.
Build your own playstyle by choosing from a wide range of abilities, weapons, and mold summons. Learn the traits of your enemies, then call upon their forms to assist you in battle and in exploring the world’s hidden pathways. Absorb defeated opponents and reshape them into molds that can be used for special attacks. Use those molds to throw enemies, fire projectiles, stun targets, or even transform them into full summons. Wherever you go, the environment offers plenty of ways to damage enemies both near and far – but it would be wise to stay alert, because they can do exactly the same to you.
Send out hand-like tendrils to parry incoming attacks, or seize and absorb enemies to gain a deeper understanding of their forms. Explore astonishing locations built from painted nails and gigantic vases, each one defined by its own civilization, culture, and richly drawn characters. The real surprise, though, is not just the game’s strange world, but its platform plans. Until now, Grime II had only been scheduled to launch on PC on March 31, but PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series have now been added to the list of target platforms. What makes the announcement even more unexpected is that console players will not have to wait any longer than PC users: those versions are also set to launch on March 31.
