Google Pixel 11: Will It Finally Do Away With Those Horribly Thick Bezels? [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – Google’s next generation of smartphones may finally break with its tradition of excessively thick bezels…

The current aesthetic of the Google Pixel line is in such a state that even a small reduction in bezel size – as the upcoming Pixel 11 appears to show, at least based on new CAD renders – is enough to spark real excitement. Will Google finally move beyond its apparent obsession with ugly design choices? Hopefully so.

OnLeaks and Android Headlines have published the first CAD renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 11. According to those images, the device is expected to retain the Pixel 10’s dimensions, measuring 152.8 x 72 x 8.5 mm. That would make the Pixel 11 0.1 mm thinner than its predecessor and exactly as thick as the Pixel 9. It is worth remembering that Google increased the Pixel 10’s thickness by 0.1 mm in order to make room for Qi2 PixelSnap magnets.

More importantly, Google seems to have moved away from the Pixel 10’s notably chunky bezels. As the new CAD render suggests, the Pixel 11’s borders are visibly slimmer, which does a lot to improve the phone’s overall look. On top of that, the rear camera bar now appears fully black instead of matching the device’s color, as it did on the Pixel 10.

The device is expected to feature a 6.3-inch – 16 cm – LTPO OLED display, a Tensor G6 processor, 128 GB of base storage, 12 GB of RAM, a 5,000 mAh battery, a starting price of roughly $700, and a launch window in the second half of the year. That new Tensor will have work to do, because the Tensor G5 did not exactly deliver standout results – and we have already covered how the Pixel 10 Pro XL drained faster than rival devices, with Google’s hardware still lagging well behind on efficiency.

Hopefully, Google has finally understood that competitive pricing alone is not enough, and that the Pixel range also needs hardware that is genuinely more appealing – perhaps this will be the year that actually happens.
