Valor Mortis: A Stunning First-Person Souls-like from the Creators of Ghostrunner [VIDEO]

The game’s development is slowly nearing completion, so we can finally see more of it.

Valor Mortis is the next game from One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, a fast-paced, first-person cyberpunk sci-fi action platformer. The game was first unveiled at Gamescom last year. Its release is finally approaching, as One More Level has announced that the game is coming this fall. This was confirmed when Valor Mortis appeared at the Triple-I Initiative Showcase. There, the developers showcased new gameplay and revealed the release window at the end of the trailer. The video shows off new parkour features and combat mechanics, and overall it offers a better look at the intense action players can expect.

After the Triple-I Showcase trailer, the studio followed up with a more detailed developer update that explored what was shown in the trailer in greater depth and confirmed further details about the current state of development. The game’s content is officially complete, and the studio is currently preparing the alpha version. Clearly, One More Level is approaching the final stage of Valor Mortis‘s development, so hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer for the fall release window to turn into a firm release date. The studio confirmed this on Steam as well, stating that the announcement marks their entry into the final phase of development.

“There’s still a lot to do as we push towards launch in Fall 2026! Since Ghostrunner 2, we have been working very hard to craft Valor Mortis as the biggest game our studio has ever made. We know that we’ll need to prove ourselves. We don’t think anyone has mixed the first-person perspective with the Souls-like genre in this way before. We’ve already incorporated a lot of feedback from the original playtest, and we’ll soon be looking for more people to try the game”, the studio wrote.

Valor Mortis is set to arrive on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC sometime this fall. Hopefully they won’t delay it because of Grand Theft Auto VI.
