007 First Light has finally brought James Bond back to video games, and the retail launch already appears to be moving fast in some places. The game is unavailable at several Spanish stores, but the standard edition can still be found elsewhere, and even the collector’s edition has not completely disappeared.
Good things come to those who wait, and James Bond fans understand that better than most right now. More than a decade has passed since the British spy last headlined a new video game, which makes 007 First Light more than just another licensed action release. It marks the end of a long drought. IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, has built a Bond adventure around a younger, still-forming 007, and early reactions suggest that the result may not be merely a nostalgic comeback, but one of the stronger releases of the year.
The game’s physical copies are already showing an interesting stock situation. It is still too early to know exactly how well 007 First Light is selling overall, but it is notable that the title is no longer available in some stores. In Spain, PcComponentes and xtralife are already out of stock, while other retailers still have copies. MediaMarkt lists the standard physical PlayStation 5 version at €66.99, while Amazon has the standard editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at around €69.99.
The Collector’s Edition Has Not Disappeared Completely
The current retail picture does not mean 007 First Light is impossible to buy. It suggests instead that launch-window demand is already putting pressure on some physical stock. At MediaMarkt, the current €66.99 price is higher than the earlier promotional price of €54.99, which was available for a few weeks, but it is still within a reasonable range for a brand-new boxed console release. For players who want more than the basic version, the Collector’s Edition is also still an option: Amazon has listed it at €199 while stock remains available.
- MediaMarkt: 007 First Light standard edition for PlayStation 5 – €66.99
- Amazon: 007 First Light standard edition for PlayStation 5 – €69.99
- Amazon: 007 First Light standard edition for Xbox Series X – €69.99
- Amazon: 007 First Light Collector’s Edition – €199
007 First Light itself is a narrative action-adventure built around James Bond’s origin story. IO Interactive’s official description follows a young, resourceful and sometimes reckless MI6 recruit as he moves toward earning the 007 number. Given IO Interactive’s Hitman background, many players expected stealth and systemic design, but First Light also leans into more direct spectacle, stronger action pacing and a more cinematic structure. The material shown so far points toward a game trying to live up to the Bond name with stylish locations, quick reversals, tight missions and the kind of heightened spy fantasy the series demands.
The remaining question is whether this early stock shortage reflects sustained demand or simply the uneven first wave of boxed inventory. Either way, Bond fans who want a physical copy or the collector’s edition may not want to wait too long, because those versions can shift much faster than digital copies. 007 First Light is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version coming later.
