MOVIE NEWS – The comedy Focker In-Law arrives in cinemas this fall, with Ariana Grande, one of today’s biggest superstars, in one of the lead roles. She is the in-law mentioned in the title.

The singer-actress (Wicked) has more than 363 million followers on social media, and the arianators will probably want to buy tickets for the film in large numbers.

Since Focker In-Law is the fourth installment in a hugely successful franchise (Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Little Fockers), the driving force behind the enterprise, Ben Stiller, has already been approached by arianators asking what they should know about the franchise. They had good reason to ask, since most of them were born around the time Meet the Parents arrived in cinemas, or even later. The fans mainly wanted to know whether they needed to see the previous three films in order to understand the fourth. Stiller replied on X that it is not strictly necessary, but if they are curious about the backstory, he especially recommends the first two films.

In Focker In-Law, Stiller’s character Greg once again finds himself in a difficult situation, because his son is preparing to marry an FBI hostage negotiator (Grande), while his former CIA agent father-in-law (Robert De Niro) watches with the same suspicion with which he has always watched everyone.
