DDR5 Prices Have Gone Completely Mad in Germany: This Could End in a 500% Increase!

TECH NEWS – If the situation in Germany is this bad, then it is almost certain things are not much better in Hungary either.

The continuous rise in DDR5 memory prices is making it harder for users to upgrade their PCs or build new machines. Over the past few months, DDR5 memory prices have shown a fluctuating trend. Thanks to the absurd AI boom, the price of DDR5 memory kits is not falling, but continues to spiral upward. In most regions, DDR5 memory modules are still available at four to five times their earlier prices, and this is true in Germany as well. There had previously been some relief in the region’s prices, but it lasted only briefly.

After falling from a February price index of 440% to 410% in March, prices for DDR5 memory kits began rising again. Although prices are not as high as they were in January and February of this year, they are still more than 400% above last July’s levels. According to the latest data from several German retailers, DDR5 memory module prices rose again in June, reaching 419% of last July’s level. The 2x 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit had a major impact, with its price rising by nearly 22% in less than a month. The kit, which cost only €208 in July 2025, reached €1,000 a few months ago and is now once again near its peak. The prices of other memory kits, such as the 2x 32 GB DDR5-6400 CL32, also rose slightly, but most RAM-kit prices did not change.

Most memory kits rose or fell by 1-3%, but some saw a solid 10% price drop, such as the 2x 16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit, which cost €464 last month and is currently available for €417. Overall, the average price of DDR5 memory rose from 414% to 419% in one month, and that was significantly driven by the 2x 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit, which is likely in strong demand.

If this trend continues, the DDR5 price index will approach 500% by the end of the year.
