New costumes are coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to match the new Spider-Man movie!

Insomniac Games’ title has also received other technical updates, and the developers included the PC version as well, which is commendable.

Version 1.0 of the PlayStation 5 Pro’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaler has added Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to its list of supported games. Developer Insomniac Games and lead architect Mark Cerny have officially confirmed this update, which brings new content to the PlayStation 5 and PC. This update signals that support for previously released single-player games will continue, even if Sony Interactive Entertainment decides not to release them on Steam and the Epic Games Store in the future.

“It’s a Brand New Day for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! Get two new suits for Peter Parker in today’s update, including the Fresh Start and the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls”, Insomniac Games wrote on Twitter.

“It’s a Brand New Day for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! 🕷️

Get TWO NEW SUITS for Peter Parker in today’s update, including the Fresh Start and the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls suits.

v1.005.000 also adds support for Enhanced PSSR on PS5 Pro and Power Saver mode!”Insomniac Games (@insomniacgames), July 28, 2026

The addition of power-saving mode support isn’t particularly significant, as the actual energy savings aren’t enough to justify running the game with reduced visual settings. However, the introduction of PSSR 2.0 support certainly is significant. Until now, the game relied on a system-level toggle that does not account for advanced versions of the upscaler. Therefore, the addition of native support has likely brought further improvements that enhance the gaming experience on the most powerful current-gen platform available. As previously mentioned, the new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update has also been released for PC. While it obviously does not include PlayStation-exclusive features, the update adds the two new suits to maintain balance between the PC and PlayStation versions of the game.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of few games based on the Marvel Comics universe and its characters released during the current console generation. However, that number is expected to grow later this year with the release of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. This 4v4 tag-team fighting game, developed by Arc System Works, launches on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Also coming later this year is Marvel’s Wolverine, which Insomniac Games will release exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15.
