Marvel’s Wolverine Will Feature a Bare Ample Posterior!

Insomniac Games’ next game will feature nudity, but don’t expect anything too extreme in this PlayStation 5 exclusive.

In the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, Insomniac showcased the web-slinger’s combat abilities without holding back, though the company refrained from graphic depictions of blood, death, and violence. This is understandable, as Spider-Man isn’t known as a bloodthirsty or particularly violent character. This changes in Marvel’s Wolverine, however, as the footage Insomniac has shown so far features plenty of dismemberment, blood, and gory scenes.

It’s no wonder the game received an “M” (Mature) rating from the ESRB, as opposed to the “T” (Teen) rating given to Spider-Man games. The game appears to have received the “M” rating not only because of the violence, but also because of the partial nudity that has been confirmed. The game received an “M” rating for blood and gore, drug references, intense violence, partial nudity, and strong language. The rating summary states that players will see bare buttocks, though it appears there will be no nudity beyond that.

“Marvel’s Wolverine is rated M for Mature (17+) by the ESRB for Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, and Strong Language. It also includes in-game purchases. In this action game, players assume the role of James Logan/Wolverine as he reunites with Team X to stop a dangerous threat. From a third-person perspective, players use melee attacks and special skills to kill enemy soldiers and robots in frenetic combat. Players use their claws to slash, stab, and slice enemies. Rage modes allow players to perform faster and more destructive combos, as well as slow-motion finishers (e.g., dramatically stabbing an enemy in the head). Combat is highlighted by frequent blood splatter effects, screams of pain, and dismemberment and decapitation. Battlefields are sometimes strewn with torsos and limbs, and cutscenes depict blood and gore, such as characters tearing enemies apart and decapitating enemy soldiers. A few sequences briefly depict a character’s exposed buttocks. The dialogue references drugs (e.g., “It doubled my production of fentanyl”). The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the game,” the summary says.

Regarding partial nudity, the summary mentions a few scenes in which it is highly likely that Wolverine is naked. This likely depicts Wolverine’s backstory in the game, including his time in the Weapon X program. Marvel’s Wolverine is set to release on September 15 for the PlayStation 5.
