Sony Also Has Positive Things to Say about Saros’ Performance!

Sony not only praised the Marathon reboot, but also commended Housemarque’s latest game.

PlayStation’s latest first-party game, Saros, quickly faded from players’ memories despite receiving excellent reviews upon its release. Although the game showed significant potential on the PlayStation Network’s bestseller lists, analysts say that Housemarque’s latest title failed to capitalize fully on the studio’s potential. Despite mounting doubts about the game’s success, PlayStation praised the title in its most recent financial report.

Saros was praised for its steadily growing popularity and for helping to expand the PlayStation player base. Sony also highlighted Saros’s critical acclaim. According to Sony, Saros is steadily expanding its user base, suggesting that players remain interested in the title several months after its release. This also means that Sony has confidence in Housemarque’s work. In fact, Sony used similarly encouraging language about Marathon in its most recent financial report, as we’ve previously reported. This indicates that the company is placing greater emphasis on supporting its in-house development teams once again.

Like Returnal, Housemarque’s latest game is gradually gaining more and more recognition among a wide audience. This could lead to further surges in popularity once the game goes on sale and discounts are offered. On the other hand, PlayStation is ready to release its next in-house title expected to be a big hit, Marvel’s Wolverine, which is coming next month and has already been mentioned in today’s news (due to… let’s just say, the ample posterior).

Still, we can’t help but feel that Sony is being very mute about its recent games’ sales figures. It’s as if we haven’t heard any precise, official sales figures for either the Marathon reboot or Saros (though it’s possible there were figures for the latter, and we just don’t remember them…).
