MOVIE NEWS – The first season of Tom Hardy’s MobLand will reach Blu-ray in the United Kingdom on September 7, while Hungarian viewers can stream the series on SkyShowtime.

Streaming services may offer enormous libraries, but that abundance often leaves viewers spending more time browsing than watching. MobLand avoided that problem when it arrived in early 2025 and immediately separated itself from the crowd. The British crime drama attracted 8.8 million viewers worldwide during its first week on Paramount+. It comes from 101 Studios, the company behind Taylor Sheridan’s expanding Yellowstone universe, while creator Ronan Bennett builds the show around the sharp tension and polished brutality associated with Guy Ritchie’s gangster films.

Audiences quickly embraced its journey into London’s criminal underworld. Season one follows the Harrigans after a fatal incident pushes the family into a full-scale territorial war with their enemies. As the body count rises, trusted fixer Harry Da Souza is forced into the middle of the conflict. He must contain each new disaster while trying to prevent the Harrigan empire from destroying itself.

Tom Hardy holds the ensemble together as the streetwise Harry. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren play Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, the formidable couple who command North London’s underworld. Paddy Considine appears as their volatile son Kevin, whose behaviour makes Harry’s attempts to preserve the peace even harder. Geoff Bell provides the central threat as Richie Stevenson, a merciless rival determined to take the Harrigans’ territory.

MobLand premiered globally on March 30, 2025, earning attention for its uncompromising atmosphere and high-calibre performances. Comparisons with Yellowstone were inevitable: both dramas revolve around a multigenerational family empire fighting to protect its domain, though the Harrigans exchange the Dutton ranch in Montana for London’s criminal world. Season two is scheduled for September 18, 2026, with the principal cast returning, including Hardy. Reports had claimed that he clashed creatively with showrunner Jez Butterworth, but Guy Ritchie reportedly helped settle the dispute.

A third season has not been formally approved, yet Paramount is already preparing another release shortly before the show returns. According to Blu-ray.com, MobLand: Season One will be issued on Blu-ray in the United Kingdom on September 7, 2026. No dedicated US edition has been announced. International collectors may still be able to import the British set if it is confirmed as region-free and compatible with Regions A, B and C.

The disc release offers viewers a chance to revisit the shattered alliances, unfinished vendettas and blood-soaked consequences of the Harrigan–Stevenson feud before the next chapter begins. Those unresolved conflicts are likely to shape season two. The arrival of the Blu-ray may also increase demand for a third run, which many expect Paramount to order: MobLand ranks as the platform’s second-biggest launch for an original series, behind only Sheridan’s Landman.
