Players Win: The Blood of Dawnwalker Gets a 60 FPS Mode at Launch

The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a performance mode targeting 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on launch day. Rebel Wolves is responding to player feedback by expanding the console graphics options through a day-one update.

The decision matters because earlier console footage suggested that the game would offer only 30 or 40 frames-per-second modes on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X. Many players therefore worried that the action-heavy role-playing game might not feel sufficiently smooth when it arrived.

The studio has now confirmed three graphics options for the more powerful consoles after the launch patch. Performance Mode targets 60 FPS, Balanced Mode aims for 40 FPS, and Quality Mode prioritises visual fidelity while running at 30 FPS.

The 60 FPS figure is a target, not a guaranteed lock

Rebel Wolves deliberately describes the new option as targeting 60 frames per second, which means demanding scenes may still produce fluctuations. The developer has not yet supplied exact resolution figures or explained whether 120 Hz displays and variable refresh rate support will provide any additional benefit.

The PlayStation 5 Pro version will receive further visual enhancements, although their precise scope remains unclear. Xbox Series S, by contrast, will be limited to a 30 FPS option, so owners of Microsoft’s smaller console will not receive the same flexibility.

The announcement nevertheless shows that the team is still reacting to community concerns in the final days before release. A 60 FPS option does not answer every technical question, but the faster response and smoother motion could make it the most valuable launch-day improvement for many console players.
