An Actor’s Ex-Girlfriend Leaked Information About Resident Evil!

Leaks are common in the franchise, but not exactly in the form that we saw this past weekend.

New details regarding upcoming releases in Capcom’s popular survival horror series, Resident Evil, have surfaced online. Monica Denizen, the ex-girlfriend of Canadian voice and motion capture actor Craig Burnatowski (who played Albert Wesker in the remake), was the source of the leak. Regarding Zeno, a new character in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the ninth installment, Denizen stated on Twitter that the actor has been confirmed for the role and will reprise his role as Wesker in Resident Evil Veronica, the Code Veronica remake.

In addition to confirming Burnatowski’s involvement in these projects, Denizen revealed numerous production details she learned before her relationship with the actor ended. Specifically, she shared information about the actors cast in the two lead roles in Resident Evil: Veronica, the name of the project’s director, and the exact timeline for the remake and the DLC. Regarding the voice actors, she mentioned that Wesker will frequently and emotionally shout Steve Burnside’s name in Veronica, referencing key dramatic events in the original 2000 game.

To prove her knowledge of the Japanese publisher’s plans, Denizen posted a screenshot of a March conversation in which the actor sent her a photo of an autograph from the actress playing Sherry Birkin. While the source has no specific information about the rumors regarding the Resident Evil Zero Remake, which is currently in development, they believe that, given Wesker’s important role, Burnatowski will most likely be involved in that project as well. Neither Capcom nor Burnatowski has commented on the breach of the non-disclosure agreement yet.

As for the Resident Evil: Requiem story DLC, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Japanese company revealed more details at Gamescom or the Tokyo Game Show in September. While this is still an unusual source for leaks, it’s better than nothing.
