The first game from the new studio founded by former CD Projekt RED developers is performing exceptionally well. It made a big difference that it was released before the other major titles in September.
On September 5, Rebel Wolves announced on the official Twitter account of The Blood of Dawnwalker that the dark vampire RPG had surpassed one million copies sold just three days after its release on September 2. They wrote: “Thank you for playing, sharing, supporting, and being part of the community.”

As we mentioned a few days ago, some of the first mods for The Blood of Dawnwalker completely remove the time limit. While we appreciate the “do it your own way” spirit that mods can bring, we believe that a little tension can be beneficial. It’s exciting to see that both The Blood of Dawnwalker and Star Wars: Zero Company are receiving rave reviews and strong sales figures during this challenging period for the industry. Although Disney hasn’t released sales figures for the game developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment, a week and a half after its release, the game had received 15,976 reviews and a “very positive” rating on Steam, indicating strong performance. For comparison, the multiplatform Blood of Dawnwalker received a total of 9,116 reviews after surpassing one million sales.
The success of Star Wars: Zero Company, however, comes with a certain degree of uncertainty that Rebel Wolves managed to avoid. Reportedly, 80% of the staff at developer Bit Reactor are on unpaid leave, waiting for sales revenue and further investments to secure their jobs. We wrote about this last week.
Now, only one question remains: When will we hear that The Blood of Dawnwalker has reached two million in sales? If we had to guess, Rebel Wolves will announce this on social media sometime in mid- to late September. Perhaps Star Wars: Zero Company will also pick up a similar pace.
