[ND 2026] The Guardians of the Galaxy Are Coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in a New Version! [VIDEO]

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is getting a port for the Nintendo Switch 2, and we already know the release date.

This fall, Eidos Montréal will release Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. It isn’t a new game; Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy first launched on October 26, 2021, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (via the Epic Games Store and Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch, released in 2017, is the odd one out because it runs in the cloud and cannot be played locally.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition is optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 and offers two settings when docked: One is Quality mode, which, as the name suggests, prioritizes image quality. Here, the resolution will be 1440p, and the frame rate will be 30 FPS. The other graphics mode, Performance, unsurprisingly prioritizes the game’s performance. Here, the resolution will be 1080p and the frame rate will be 40 FPS. There will also be a handheld mode. Eidos Montréal has disclosed that the frame rate will be 30 FPS, and the resolution will likely be dynamically adjustable given that Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling is supported on Nintendo’s current-gen platform.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition, out on November 5, will include new content, but it isn’t significant because the game will feature a glam rock costume collection. Let’s be honest; the Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game won’t be in demand just because of these new costumes. If that were the case, we might ask, “What has the world come to?”

Marvel, which is owned by Disney, is thus slowly but surely expanding its ever-growing presence on the Nintendo Switch 2.
