Neowiz, the publisher of Lies of P, has confirmed the name of the sequel, which is currently in development but does not yet have an official title.

Phrasemaker discovered that Neowiz filed an EU trademark application for a product called Wonders of O, which was classified as virtual reality game software, among other things. While this isn’t 100% confirmed, it’s highly likely that this is the sequel to Lies of P, which we know is in development. Similarly, it’s hard to imagine this being anything other than an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, just as Lies of P was a twisted Pinocchio creation. Setting the name aside, the post-credits scene in Lies of P ended with a woman in ruby slippers clicking her heels. Let’s prepare ourselves now for the Cowardly Lion’s tragic revenge.

It just makes sense, doesn’t it? Both are fairy tales published during the Victorian era—Lies of P in 1881 and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900—and, although they’re defined in the public imagination by later Hollywood film adaptations, the original works are much stranger and more interesting than most people realize. It seems the marketing machine is slowly starting to rev up for The Wonders of O. A few weeks ago, Lies of P developer Nough (formerly Round 8) released a mini-documentary highlighting the name change and work on the sequel. (We’ve already covered this in our news section.)

Lies of P was excellent, so it’s no wonder that Neowiz quickly asked Nought to develop the sequel after the expansion. Of course, we wouldn’t dare guess the release date, so the target platforms aren’t entirely certain either. It will either be a cross-gen title for PlayStation 6, Xbox Project Helix, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and maybe Nintendo Switch 2, or it will be released exclusively on next-gen hardware and PC.
