Will PlayStation VR Come To PCs?

While we’re – at least – six months away from Sony‘s virtual reality’s headset‘s, the PlayStation VR‘s release, there is already a promising comment about it that the PSVR might support PCs in the future. This statement was mentioned by one of the higher-ups at Sony

According to Segment Next’s translation of Masayasu Ito‘s interview to Nikkei, „Since PlayStation 4 shares a lot of its components with PCs, the possibility is there. At the moment, we are focused on games, and we are not ready to make any announcements at this stage, but I’d say there will be an expansion into various fields.” It seems Ito always talks about something in the long term each month – since he’s senior vice president of the to-be-transformed Sony Computer Entertainment, he must be close to the fire.

PlayStation VR is meant to be a middle-level VR device. While it’s cheaper and possibly weaker than the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift, it does provide more than the Google Cardboard. Sony knows that the PC must be considered in the long term; Hideo Kojima‘s new game is going to be available on PC in the future.
