MOVIE NEWS – Ubisoft‘s franchise that turned into a cinematic adaptation already picked up some money with early previews in the United States.
Deadline reports how Tuesday 7 PM airings of Assassin’s Creed (which launched on December 21) picked up 1.35 million dollars from 2470 cinemas. With this result, it beat Sony’s Passengers, which grabbed 1.2M $ up from 2400 locations total.
Deadline’s prediction is that Assassin’s Creed will bring 30-35 million dollars for Ubisoft from the United States only in the first six days. However, the French company’s budget was 125 million for Assassin’s Creed, so the film adaptation, which got negative initial reviews, might struggle to turn a profit in the end…
