Cyberpunk 2077 Release: Did The Polish Government Slip Up?

The Polish government, which financially supports the game’s development, might have dropped the mic.

CD Projekt RED‘s next biggest project is going to be Cyberpunk 2077, which is getting some backing from the local government, making it a trend that other Eastern/Central European countries, such as Hungary, should follow. That’s alright, but the developers have listed multiple EU projects on their website, where there’s something hiding, and it needs to be mentioned.

The goals and the timeframes start in either 2016 or 2017 for these projects, but the deadline seems to be June 29, 2019, at the latest. That means Cyberpunk 2077 would be out in the first half of 2019, which, seeing CD Projekt RED‘s goals (another RPG outside this one until 2021), would make sense.

The problem is that the new, RedEngine 4-using futuristic RPG was announced by the Poles about five years ago already – perhaps it was too early.
