Warhorse Studios has already announced two new projects, but we don’t know the names of either one yet!
Trademark filings often reveal a new game’s name before anyone else does. The next Kingdom Come game will most likely be titled Kingdom Come: Salvation. A trademark application filed by Warhorse Studios with the EUIPO on July 23 supports this. Even if Warhorse hadn’t already been confirmed as the trademark owner, the style of the Salvation logo, see below, and the legal information associated with the Czech studio’s other trademarks would have clearly given the secret away. Although Warhorse has not commented on the disclosure of the name, the studio announced in May that a new Kingdom Come adventure is in the works. This announcement coincided with the reveal of the studio’s upcoming Middle-earth–themed RPG. It is a major project that we assume will be the studio’s primary focus in the coming years.
We’re trying not to read too much into the wording of the original announcement or the title itself. Warhorse described its Lord of the Rings game as an open-world RPG but simply described the sequel to Kingdom Come as an adventure. Will Salvation take on a different, smaller format? Will it even be an RPG? Middle-earth is great, of course, but we’d gladly welcome another Czech adventure anytime. This series still needs to make its way to Prague…
The part of the trademark that refers to entertainment services designed to connect users with computer games suggests that Salvation will feature a multiplayer mode or at least online functionality. If Salvation is another open-world RPG on the scale of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, then Henry likely won’t be the main character. Warhorse has openly stated that it is wrapping up Henry’s story. The fact that the Deliverance subtitle has been changed indeed points to a fresh start.
In any case, Dan Vávra’s studio is hard at work, and it hasn’t disappointed us yet.
