Invader Studios didn’t stop after they had to abandon their original ideas.
The team was working on the remake of Resident Evil 2, until Capcom contacted them to please suspend the development, as they began remaking the game (not remastering like how they did so with the first and Zero games…), which was one of the best titles of 1998, and even its director, Hideki Kamiya, celebrated its twentieth anniversary. The first video shows what could have been if Capcom let the team do their best with Unreal Engine 4…
Invader Studios, which was invited by Capcom to Japan to visit their studios (and check out the Resident Evil 2 Remake, of course), announced their next game in September 2016. It would be Daymare 1998, which is a big pun on the word „nightmare.” The game’s style is a tribute to the 1990s’ survival horror games, seen in the second video below.
When could this game launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC? On Facebook, they answered a fan with „Q3 2018” – it means it could launch between July and September. If they can keep their promise, it’d be amazing…
