MOVIE NEWS – BossLogic has imagined how Brie Larson (Captain Marvel – out in cinemas in early March) would look like as Samus Aran in a Metroid movie.
BossLogic’s Twitter has a quick render about how Larson would look like the female protagonist of one of the oldest Nintendo franchises. Both photos show Larson from the side. The left side shows her in the Zero Suit, while the right side puts her character into Samus’ classic armour.
Nintendo isn’t keen on making a return to the big screen after Super Mario Bros. getting a cinematic adaptation, even though John Woo was working on an idea between 2004 and 2007, appealing to the hardcore fans of Metroid, but since the game itself takes story cues from other sci-fi films, nothing happened. A team of writers also tried to get Samus Aran’s origin story going, but since Nintendo didn’t say much about it, that project also came to a screeching halt.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) has an idea how he’d make a Metroid-film – he’d make it similar to Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive!, and Larson would love to act as Samus as well…
