Capcom has announced several months ago that they will team up with CD Projekt RED, and it’s about time that the PC players get to see the result of their cooperation.
Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter: World, which launched over a year ago on consoles, and about half a year ago on PC, will get its new major update on May 9, at 12 AM UTC (late May 8 in America, early hours of May 9 in Europe). Play as Geralt of Rivia (with newly recorded voiceovers by the original voice actor for Geralt) and take on a new special assignment called Trouble in the Ancient Forest! It’s a single-player quest, and it will always be available! The ending of this quest will depend on your progression through the side objectives! Complete the special assignment to earn a special item and gesture, a new guild card background, as well as poses and titles. You can also earn materials to craft the “Geralt α” full armour set and the “Witcher’s Silver Sword” sword & shield! By completing special objectives, will earn you a critical bounty that (if completed) allows you to get the materials needed to craft the “Cursed Staff α” weapon, and the “Nekker α” full armour set for your Palico! This mission will be available from May 17!
There will also be an event quest called Woodland Spirit. Its difficulty is similar to Death March! difficulty in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Complete this quest to earn materials to craft the “Ciri α” full armour set and the “Zireael” dual blades, as well as earn delivery requests that allow you to get the materials needed for the Geralt Layered Armor and Ciri Layered Armor. Take note that this quest is available from Friday, May 17 00:00 to Thursday, May 30 23:59 UTC.
There will also be a new monster called the Leshen. These creatures use their innate magic to control all flora and fauna within their territory.
So, after SoulCalibur VI, Geralt will show up elsewhere, too! (Too bad that the PC users had to wait about three months for this collaboration to happen after the console users…)
