Despite having first launched in September 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game, Grand Theft Auto V still sells like hotcakes.
On the European, African, and Middle-East Asian (EMEAA) sales charts have been weird recently – last week, the third place was claimed by a game that was only #1191 a week before: we talk about DuckTales: Remastered, which surprisingly got a podium place because Capcom’s license has expired and they had to delist the game, which can no longer be bought digitally. (Which brings up the digital sales’ problem – this happens quite often, and then, you can’t acquire these games legally anymore. And those that never got a digital release… well, that’s another story.)
This week, there are no major surprises. On the top of the charts, both units sold and value, Grand Theft Auto V can be seen, which is also the best-selling game in the United Kingdom for the first half of 2019. In the retail sales, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled finished first, and in terms of value, Super Mario Maker 2 got the top spot, but you can see the combined charts below. Many games climbed up quite a bit from last week: : The Crew 2 (last week: #16), Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (11), Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy (18), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege (10), Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII (20).
The chart below includes digital sales as well, and while retail sales are not involving all countries, it’s still an interesting list to see, even if it includes some regular titles (Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe).
