Sony is seriously fooling us – it looks like we have to prepare for the Mondays to see them announce the next month’s line-up.
Last month, they announced the July titles on a Monday, but at that time, we believed that this is a one-off by Sony, as they were celebrating the tenth anniversary of the PlayStation Plus. (Speaking of which, make sure to check your inbox on the PlayStation Network, as you might have received ten dollars of store credit.) And now they announce it on a Monday AGAIN!?
Anyway, let’s see what we get for August. The first game is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. „Survive a series of hilarious challenges until one victor remains in this colourful 60-person online multiplayer party game! Test your mettle in brutal free-for-alls or co-op challenges where only the winning team advances to the next round. Bend, bounce and bash your way through hilarious physics-based obstacles, from smashing through doors to balancing on massive see-saws, to racing up mountains riddled with traps. Add a touch of style to your Fall Guy by customizing them with everything from classy pineapple couture to flattering prehistoric fashion,” the PlayStation Blog reads. Is the other game a better choice?
Well… partially. We’re talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. Yes, you read that correctly: it’s a somewhat recent release, but this only contains the CAMPAIGN of 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2! So they pulled a bad move on the subscribers, and we also need to add that the two games are available from different days. (Complicated yet?) Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available from August 4 (when the PlayStation 4 version releases), while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is playable from July 28.
Both games are free until August 31. Also, there’s going to be a free weekend, meaning if you don’t have PS Plus, you can also play online multiplayer. It will be available „starting Saturday, August 8 at 12:01 am through Sunday, August 9 at 11:59 pm local time.”
What a weird line-up.
