Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a dark, stealthy next-gen action game announced for PS5, and the developer has now shown a trailer of it.

Although Sony had deliberately lowered expectations about its recent State of Play program ensuring that there were no major PlayStation 5 announcements planned, the truth is that at least a promising video game has been announced for its new generation console. It’s called Hood: Outlaws and Legends, and it is developed by Home Interactive and Sumo Newcastle.

In the absence of details at the time of writing, we are content to see it’s first trailer, which includes a few seconds of gameplay properly made up, without an interface:

But everything indicates that it is an RPG action game with stealth touches, in the style of Assassin’s Creed (perhaps it is also fair to compare it to Thief or Dishonored in some aspects), and with cooperative multiplayer. Its release date? We only have an approximate window: 2021.

Judging from the few clues available, it appears that the four players involved in the game will have to cooperate to infiltrate military camps, castles and other medieval restricted areas to assassinate their targets or steal the loot. It seems that all kinds of combat styles will be favored, from melee with heavy two-handed hammers to light crossbows.
