It seems that Sony‘s new console is going to get a strong title in its launch line-up if the rumour is true.
Currently, the Demon’s Souls remake has no release date attached to it, but it has the possibility that it can become a PlayStation 5 launch title. Kinda Funny’s Imran Khan, the ex-Game Informer editor, claims that Bluepoint Games has always planned the game to be in the PS5 launch line-up, and the only thing that could turn things upside down is the coronavirus global pandemic, which likely affected Bluepoint, too (working from home and such – they are reworking FromSoftware’s PS3 original). Even the South Korean board has rated the game, so there might be truth behind Khan’s words.
Back in June, when the game got announced, we wrote the following: „Bluepoint is not alone. As with the PlayStation 4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus, they get help from Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio. „From SIE Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls. Entirely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced, this remake invites you to experience the unsettling story and ruthless combat of Demon’s Souls in unparalleled visual quality and incredible performance,” SIE’s overview says.
The PlayStation Blog has more details: „[…] In addition to beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing, players can choose between two graphics modes while playing: one focused on fidelity, and one focused on frame rate.” So the PlayStation 4 Pro’s legacy continues: if you want to get a higher frame rate, you can give up some of the graphical details and vice versa: if you want beautiful visuals (4K) but lower FPS, you can do it.”
Let’s hope that when the PlayStation 5 launches (November 13? November 20?), Bluepoint Games‘ Demon’s Souls remake will also be there.
