It’s not officially announced yet, but we can be sure about it: Ubisoft will bring the first Watch Dogs to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

Watch Dogs Complete Edition. This game was released – after a significant delay – on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in May 2014, and half a year later (in November), the Nintendo Wii U also received the adventures of Aiden Pearce. This was one of the games that made the term Ubisoft downgrade widely known: games seemed to look incredible at E3, only to show up as ugly ducklings in their respective retail versions. Watch Dogs was no exception.

Watch Dogs Complete Edition is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (and it’s a bonus for those who pay for the more expensive versions of Watch Dogs: Legion), but now, the ESRB has rated the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. It means the game will now be available on three console generations, continuing the re-releasing trend. Will Ubisoft also bring Watch Dogs 2 over? (Then again, there’s also the backwards compatibility, and the first game might have just this and nothing else.)

Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed Watch Dogs Complete Edition on the next-gen consoles yet, but rating boards don’t rate games based on information; they tend to play the titles, regardless where it is. Aiden’s third-gen appearance is thus 99% confirmed with this link.

This move benefits those who have money, get the new consoles, and the new Watch Dogs, as Aiden Pearce from Chicago will also be part of Watch Dogs Legion in a late DLC. There is no console generation without Watch Dogs. Whether it’s a new title or an older one’s re-release is up to you.
