[E3 2021] The Online Portal And App Details

We are slowly heading closer to E3, which will come back this year, although as an online-only event, which is still better than nothing.

The Entertainment Software Association, the organisers of E3, have announced the first details on the E3 2021 online portal and app. They will both act as a hub for the event, including virtual „booths,” hosted events, video conferencing, profiles and avatars or forums. The media’s access will open on June 7, and the public will gain access on June 12. The registration will begin later this month and is free.

The public version of the portal will include access to the exhibitor booths, featuring special events, VOD content and articles. They will act as hubs within the portal for key announcements and game information tied to each exhibitor. The lounges will be online gathering spots for all E3 attendees. The forums will be special boards for a focused online discussion and sharing among attendees. The leaderboards will be gamified show elements that can be collected and displayed, encouraging fans to interact in as many ways as possible. Also, all attendees can create their unique profiles within the portal and app, which can be customized.

Both the portal and app will also feature the live broadcast of the event, and it will include interactive overlays powered by Hovercast. Thus, you will also see viewer polls or featured tweets for example. It will be hosted by Alex Goldenboy” Mendez, Jacki Jing, and Greg Miller and feature major publisher showcases, press conferences, industry panels, extended live streams, and special guest appearances. In the five-day media early access, the press can connect with the exhibitors, and with a calendar tool, they can to schedule appointments, including video conferencing and chat features. Their registration will also begin later this month.

E3 2021 will run from June 12 to 13.
