MOVIE NEWS – We will soon be able to discover No Time to Die, the 25th James Bond film and the end of Daniel Craig‘s 007 career, as he hangs up his dinner jacket and Walther PPK after five films and fifteen years of loyal service. The actor showed himself to be very emotional during a farewell speech given at the end of the shooting of his last film.
Tears and thanks
The video lasts about 20 seconds, which is more than enough time for Daniel Craig to say and convey a lot. Visibly tired and very moved, the actor who made James Bond more human and brought him into the new century has some sincere words. And he does not forget to mention the complicated relationship he has had with the character and these five films. Initially rejected by fans, injured on several occasions during filming, not spared by the critics, Daniel Craig expresses infinite gratitude, despite everything that has been said.
“A lot of people here worked on five pictures with me, and I know there’s a lot of things said about what I think about these films, or all of those whatever. But I’ve loved every single second of these movies, and especially this one, because I’ve got up every morning and I’ve had the chance to work with you guys. And that has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”
In this iconic dinner jacket that he wears so well, Daniel Craig knows that his acting career is over, and the emotion he seems to feel is probably as much due to the relief of the finished work as to the awareness that a page is being turned for him and his character. We still don’t know who the new James Bond will be, and whether this James Bond will still have the 007 number, since Lashana Lynch will at least get it back for Dying Can Wait… See you at the cinema on 6 October 2021 to find out more!
