An update adds Space Sense to ensure you don’t hit anyone while moving with Oculus Quest on your head.

Facebook wanted to be the protagonist in recent weeks. It shook the world with Meta, its new name, but in the domain of video games technology, the company also has news. Specifically with virtual reality, with the filtration of the Quest Pro model and, officially, with a new update for your helmet.

The new patch for Oculus Quest solves one of the problems that really worries those who want to enjoy a good time with VR. Space Sense technology has been added, which allows detecting when objects, people, or animals are within the limits of the game, which will avoid problems with children or pets.

“Space Sense allows you to see the objects or the people that are introduced in your limits”, they say in the update notes. “Other people, large pets, a chair moved from its usual place … These objects will now appear highlighted in your helmet, surrounded by a pink light.”

This tool is now part of the Guardian system, allowing players to see the borders around the space they need to use Oculus Quest. In addition to this, other additional functions have been added, such as notifications on Android mobiles or improvements in voice commands.

Oculus virtual reality continues to be one of the most successful on the market, with Facebook publishing new models periodically and not leaving the technology behind. One of its biggest criticisms is that it requires a social network account to use it, which, fortunately, seems to be disappearing soon.
