In a debate on the dangers of video games, designer David Ferriz came up with some brilliant ideas.

Anyone reading this article will probably be perfectly aware of the most positive aspects of video games: unforgettable memories, a break from everyday problems, meeting new people, developing skills… and it also allows the imagination to run wild with a selection of games, even the well-known Lego Super Mario set. However, not everyone sees these benefits, so we are used to biased articles repeating the dangers of this wonderful hobby.

After the latest article on the subject, which warned of the alleged lack of creativity in children due to technology, Devilish Games co-founder David Ferriz took to Twitter to share his two children’s relationship with video games. As you might imagine, the children’s experiences are a far cry from the misconception that the medium deifies violence: they show two people who have a vast imagination thanks to video games.

This interest has led Ferriz to create all sorts of interactive games based on her children’s adventures in video games: wooden swords and exploration for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, fighting Street Fighter-style with little reed characters, destroying domino towers a la Angry Birds… and the list goes on and on, further proof that video games enhance children’s creativity.

We’ve seen this time and again in unique games like Minecraft, where some users have invented a fully functional chessboard, recreated parts of the vast Star Wars universe, and even used the Mojang title to promote a church in Spain. So if you’re a parent with playful children, don’t hesitate to implement some of Ferriz’s ideas, as this fusion of “physical” and computer games can create even more unforgettable family moments.
