Here’s How Dying Light 2: Stay Human’s Alpha Looked Like In 2020! [VIDEO]

Techland’s game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, was released on Friday (February 4th) (though not on all platforms!), But let’s see how it was two years ago.

The Polish studio is supposed to have spent more than five years working on a sequel to Dying Light. The first instalment came out back in 2015, and Techland explained that the sequel using Denuvo on PC was because piracy was rampant in the first game. (This statement is also true for The Witcher trilogy for CD Projekt RED, yet it was so successful that the third instalment has already been released for Nintendo Switch, and Saber Interactive is still working on it for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.) Due to the unnecessary copy protection, you can’t play the game much on GeForce Now, for example, before you lose access to the product for a few hours, but that’s beside the point…

Well, three videos of up to twenty-seven seconds each have surfaced on Imgur, all from the 2020 alpha version of Dying Light 2: Stay Human (and Techland didn’t even have a subtitle for the game back then…!). Previously, the Polish company had planned to release the zombie parkour game that year, but the pandemic caused their plans to collapse like a house of cards in a soft breeze…

In the first video, we see the player recording the video leaping off the roof of a building before applying some skills (the game already had this function). In the second, he dives into the middle of the city into a small lake to swim around, and in the third, we see our hero trying to land correctly after a jump. It’s interesting to see how much the sequel to Dying Light has changed in two years because Techland didn’t just sit on its ass between 2020 and 2022.

The Nintendo Switch version, on the other hand, will have to wait, and we don’t know precisely how long: the cloud version will be released on the big N platform six months after the February 4 launch at the most, and Techland hasn’t yet confirmed a launch date.
