Fall Guys Goes Free-To-Play; Launching On Multiple Consoles [VIDEO]

Available for PlayStation 4 and Steam since August 4, 2020, Fall Guys is about to open its doors to more players.

Mediatonic has announced that Fall Guys will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Epic Games Store on PC. Those who already have the game on Steam will receive updates, but new players will need to get the game from the Epic Games Store. They are also working on a stage builder, but it’s still long from release.

The Blunderdome will open for free-to-play on June 21, and with it comes cross-play and cross-progression innovations for Fall Guys: you can switch between platforms using your Epic Games account. For the PlayStation 5 version, the studio has said that Fall Guys will get other performance updates in addition to faster load times, but no details were given. Those who played before June 21 will get a Legacy Pack (nickname, nameplate, Regal, Veggie Dog, Feisty Dwarf costumes), and they’ll also be giving away the first Season Pass.

New maps, costumes, and ever-changing gameplay will be included with Free for All (the name of the F2P model). Show-Bucks will be the game’s new currency; it’s roughly equivalent to Fortnite’s V-Bucks. It will also allow you to get the more expensive category of battle pass (so you can have other costumes and other items to open). When the F2P kicks off, there will be 100 levels. If you max them out, you will be able to unlock the next one. Kudos will also be transferred to the free-to-play edition from the paid version.

Depending on how many people pre-register here, more rewards (new name badge, extra Kudos, burger pattern, muscleman emote, Melonhead costume) may be given to players who have the unlocked extras arrive on their Epic Games account no later than June 27 at midnight UTC.

So Fall Guys will become a free-to-play title on June 21. Until then (if you don’t prefer the Epic Games Store), buy it on Steam, after which it will disappear from there. In the meantime, it will be available on PlayStation 4 and everyone else (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch).
