Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – Classic Game Gets A Remake, Here’s The Trailer! [VIDEO]

The remake of the classic detective video game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened shows that alongside Arthur Conan Doyle, the literary work of H.P. Lovecraft is also gaining popularity…

After the official launch of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – Remake a few days ago, the first trailer was released today, and the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter was launched, raising half the money needed in just over an hour to allow the makers, Frogwares, to complete development in Ukraine despite the apparent problems caused by the Russian invasion.

The team is asking for €70,000 on the portal to complete the game, but at the time of writing, the fundraising is already at €91,000, so they will soon set another target.

After the milestone, it is unknown if the creators of The Sinking City have any ideas for what attractions they will offer players beyond a more extensive localization.

Players can pledge as little as €5 to support the game, although there are releases offering incentives for those who invest up to €2,000. At least two patrons have already joined in this range, and they will have access to all the studio’s developments launching over the next five years, among other things.

Users who are sceptical about the project should watch the first trailer. Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – Remake brings back the first part of perhaps the most famous detective saga in literature, this time in a horror-themed story where Holmes and Watson must face a cult possessed by an “Eldritch God” after the events of the first chapter.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – Remake will also be released for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GoG, Gamesplanet), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

The first Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened hit stores in 2006, while the remake will rely on Unreal Engine 4, with significant scripting changes to position the story as a direct sequel to Frogwares’ latest development.
