MOVIE NEWS – Jamie Foxx does his best Donald Trump impersonation in a viral video rapidly gaining social media views.
Jamie Foxx, who is particularly adept as a celebrity impersonator due to his success in biographical roles, has attracted much attention with his latest production. Foxx recently appeared on the Rap Radar podcast (as reported by Deadline), primarily to promote his new Netflix film, Day Shift. During the interview, Foxx went all in as former US President Donald J. Trump, and footage of the impersonation went viral on Twitter. You can watch the clip below, joining over 1.6 million people who have already seen the video.
With the impersonation, Foxx is referring to when Trump commuted the prison sentence of Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris, who had been serving time for attempted murder and cocaine trafficking since the 1980s.
Jamie Foxx also mentions Snoop Dogg, who called for Harris’ release. In his role as Trump, Foxx said:
“There’s a lot of great people on both sides. Lots of great people on both sides. I know Harry O. He’s a great person. He couldn’t vote for me at the time. Now he can vote for me once he gets out. I love Snoop D-O-Double G. Great person.”
Foxx then portrays Trump as pretending to be a fan of Death Row Records. Here’s what he said when asked what his favourite record from the label is.
“All of them. I love the Death Row Records. Don’t try to pin me down. Excuse me! Excuse me. Fake news.”
Later, Jamie Foxx comments on Trump’s comments that he “beat the virus”, going out of his way to laugh at the former president’s expense.
