Konami Is Preparing For A Silent Hill Broadcast!

And this is not a rumour; it is official information! The question is: what the Japanese company is up to?

On the official Twitter account of Silent Hill, Konami wrote the latest news of the Silent Hill series would be announced during the Silent Hill Transmission on October 19 at 2 PM Pacific/5 PM Eastern. You can view this broadcast on Konami’s website. (Let us ask: why is there no Twitch presence, which is something that all major publishers have managed to do?)

The reference in the tweet could be hype to stir up nostalgia. It opens with the comment, “In your restless dreams, do you see that town?” which we’ll explain because it’s a reference to perhaps the best part of the series. A letter from Mary, one of the main characters in Silent Hill 2, begins: ‘In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill.”

Of course, it is also possible that there is indeed a Silent Hill 2 remake in the works, which we have heard rumours about. It could be the one that the Bloober Team (Observer, Blair Witch, The Medium) is working on. Still, it’s also plausible that it’s a Japanese development, as we’ve heard Konami is working on several projects simultaneously. However, it’s suspicious that Masahiro Ito, the monster designer of the Silent Hill franchise, and composer Akira Yamaoka have also retweeted Konami’s announcement.

The timing doesn’t seem to be a coincidence. We recently reported that the South Korean age rating committee evaluated a project called Silent Hill: The Short Message. Chances are that Konami will talk about it during the broadcast, but as we’re only days away, it is worth waiting patiently for developments… unless there are further rumours about the show, which there most likely will be.
