Sony has revealed that a free update will soon allow players to enjoy Gran Turismo 7 on PS VR2 headsets.

Gran Turismo 7 players will soon be able to enjoy the game on PS VR2 following the release of a free update. For players with the necessary hardware, the GT 7 experience will be more immersive than ever.

Gran Turismo 7, developed by Polyphony Digital and released for PS4 and PS5 in March 2022, has already received several updates.

Plus, when PlayStation VR2 arrives on 22 February, Gran Turismo 7 will be the launch day title. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan announced during a speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He also mentioned the remarkable sales milestone achieved by Gran Turismo as a franchise. He also promised that PS VR2 players would be able to experience the game “in a way never seen before”.

Sony has made some of its racing games available on VR hardware in the past. However, so far, with limited success. Sadly, Driveclub VR servers will be shut down in 2020. This marked the end of one of Sony’s most ambitious racing experiments at the time. The original PS VR hardware also provided limited support for Gran Turismo Sport, which was released in 2017. It was a precursor to GT 7. It’s not yet clear whether the PS VR2 version of the game will offer the full range of features or whether it will be more selective.

PS VR2 is more expensive than PS5, so a wide range of exciting software will be needed to convince early buyers that the sticker price is value for money.

Sony has unveiled a range of games aimed at fans old and new. Among them are releases of recent hits like Among Us and No Man’s Sky. Original content from big IPs like Horizon Call of the Mountain. As well as updates from classic titles like the upcoming Fantavision 202X. Giving players a new way to experience other games they already love is another great way to show the value of PS VR2 in the living room. Gran Turismo 7 is a natural way to do this. It also reminds players why they bought the PS5 console in the first place. Hopefully, similar updates for other such games will follow in the coming months.
