Resident Evil 4 Remake Locks Important Content Behind the Deluxe Edition

A report has revealed that the Resident Evil 4 remake will lock some collectibles behind the Deluxe Edition.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is said to lock some collectibles behind the Deluxe Edition. Although based on the gameplay shown of Resident Evil 4, the game promises to be a fantastic remake that faithfully yet presents the original title in a different way, knowing that the content, even if only a small part, is locked behind the DLC, may set back some of the fan excitement.

Overall, there’s a lot to look forward to after Resident Evil 4 Remake’s release on March 24th, as enemies cut from the original Resident Evil 4 add even more variety to the enemies Leon will face during his quest. So far, we haven’t had much reason to worry about what the game will be like, and even so, it can be strange that some treasures are locked behind a paywall, which isn’t a huge loss, but it can still be considered strange.

PCGamesN reported this discovery while browsing the Resident Evil 4 page on the Xbox Store. The description of the treasure map included with the Deluxe Edition states that in addition to obtaining the map, additional treasures not included in the Standard Edition will be placed in the game for players to find. Even the author of the article seemed a little shocked at the news, saying that the collector in them is a little sad that some collectibles are not available unless they pay for a more premium version of the game.

Regardless, this exclusion for normal players is unlikely to ruin their experience with the game, as the author admits that earning money won’t be a difficult task if the game’s economy is quite lenient like in the original. Given the initial reservations from the directors of Resident Evil 4 about remaking the original out of respect for the original, it’s safe to say that money will continue to be a common commodity like it was in the 2005 release, and players will likely have a healthy amount of they will get money from which they can develop their arsenal at a good pace.

Aside from this arguably odd discovery about the Deluxe Edition, the game promises to be a successful title when it comes out. The gameplay shown so far has been well received, and with several titles being delayed outside of March, Resident Evil 4 won’t have much competition when it comes out. If the title lives up to expectations, it could potentially start a debate as to whether this or the Dead Space remake is the best horror title of the year, and missing a few treasures from the base version will be just a small thing that hurts just a little for Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
