PS Plus: Promising Day One Release Now Announced For April!

Sony usually confirms its PS Plus offerings on the last Wednesday of the month, but a free game for April 2023 has been announced earlier.

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that the upcoming Meet Your Maker game will be a PS Plus Essential tier title launching on April 4. Meet Your Maker, which had an open beta back in February, is a post-apocalyptic builder-hunter game. Players take on the role of a so-called Custodian.

Interested fans can try Meet Your Maker via PS Plus on PS4 and PS5 launch day, but Behaviour Interactive has also confirmed standard and deluxe editions of the game.

The former is simple: it costs $29.99. The $39.99 Deluxe edition includes the Scorched Necropolis Pack, which provides players with Egyptian-themed blocks, props, stickers, a weapon skin and some Custodian skins.

Meet Your Maker will be released on April 4 and will remain in the service until May 1. PS4 and PS5 owners can claim the game. Sony has not yet confirmed the other two or perhaps three games that will join in April. Traditionally, these line-ups are confirmed on the Wednesday before the Tuesday release, so fans will likely hear about the others on March 29. Until then, this little taster will probably help fans.

Meet Your Maker might not be the big AAA game everyone is discussing right now, but it’s a perfect title for the PS Plus release. It’s no secret that PlayStation Plus multiplayer games benefit from instant access to the community. Having that on day one is a significant advantage for Meet Your Maker on PlayStation consoles.

Similar examples can be seen in the way the service has boosted player numbers for Rocket League, Fall Guys and Deep Rock Galactic, although it remains to be seen whether this game can replicate that success.

So far, only one PlayStation Plus free-to-play game has been confirmed for April 2023. But it already sounds exciting. As it stands, it looks like April has a strong chance of surpassing the March 2023 free offering in terms of quality.
