Players Are Worried About the Red Dead Redemption Remaster, and With Good Reason!

There is a lot of excitement among online players, but they are also worried about a possible Red Dead Redemption re-release. More additions to the Red Dead Redemption remaster have recently come to light, and although the general enthusiasm has reached its peak, it seems that some players are treating such a project with reservations.

The original Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010, in which players were introduced to the character of John Marston, the gunslinger and rogue of the Wild West. He is now one of Rockstar’s most recognized and tragic heroes, whose character is still adored by players. Rockstar was successful again in 2018 with Red Dead Redemption 2, when they introduced a lovable main character to the game again. However, despite its success, it cannot be denied that the original game’s technology is now outdated, so the community has been eager to see an updated, remastered version for years.

Reddit user Plus-Inspection-688 has shared the main reason some gamers are wary of a possible Red Dead Redemption re-release – Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas disappointed fans in many ways when they were released. According to many, the debut of Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – Trilogy – Definitive Edition was even worse than the scandalous premiere of Cyberpunk 2077, which really set the bar high. A screenshot uploaded to Reddit highlighted the difference between GTA: San Andreas and the re-release through Denise Robertson’s character, and the result is quite scary. It’s understandable why the existence of the remastered GTA trilogy has Red Dead Redemption fans a bit on edge.

“I’m also worried about Rockstar remastering Red Dead Redemption,” writes u/Plus-Inspection-688 in the reddeadredemption section.

Despite the concerns, however, there is one big difference that is important to mention. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was created by Grove Street Games, while the possible remaster of Red Dead Redemption would probably be done by Rockstar itself. If it were to be announced and Grove Street Games was the developer, many would probably start ringing alarm bells, but in the meantime, it can be assumed that Rockstar has the situation under control.

Many gamers would be happy to see Rockstar reach into the past for their next title, while others believe that Red Dead Redemption 3 should be the studio’s next project. Given that there is currently no GTA 6, this seems unlikely, but that hasn’t stopped the community from sharing their thoughts online about a possible sequel. Some believe that Red Dead Redemption 3, which would focus on a brand new gang, would not be a good idea. After all, the game is probably still so far away that it would be too early to decide on this question.

Red Dead Redemption is currently available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and from Xbox One X upwards, thanks to backwards compatibility and Xbox One X Enhanced mode, you can play it in 4K HDR.
