If Hideo Kojima meets someone, it’s usually suspicious, because you can never know what the grandfather of Metal Gear is up to with thee meetings. However, he met George Miller, the creator of Mad Max – he traveled to Japan because of the promotional campaign for Mad Max: Fury Road, in which he obviously participates.
For Kojima, Mad Max 2 is one of his five best top movies of all time, going as far to admit that Miller has been a great inspiration for his games. „Because Miller existed, I exist” – without him, his games would be most likely something entirely different. Miller said that a movie should be understood without any subtitles in Japan, becuase a film is also a visual media. Kojima didn’t think that Mad Max 2 would be topped, but he told Miller that Fury Road surpassed his expectations. Kojima would gladly create a Mad Max game and George Miller would gladly agree to it – his sons like Metal Gear Solid.
So the two geniuses might get something together, but the question is: where? Konami doesn’t want Kojima to be there anymore (destroying Silent Hills in the process, which was planned to be a cooperation between Kojima and Guillermo del Toro). Maybe Platinum Games would be a great place for them?
