MSI Also Enters The Handheld PC Market! [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – The specifications of the Dragon-themed device are not yet known, but MSI will show the machine at CES.

MSI has posted a teaser video on Instagram, which does not provide much information. The device can be seen from the front, which makes it look similar to the Asus ROG Ally and Valve’s Steam Deck OLED. The two triggers are illuminated by RGB LEDs, which gives the machine a very aesthetic look (it will soon be competing with the Lenovo Legion Go, for example). MSI has also focused on heat dissipation, so you should not have a problem with the internal temperature of the machine. We also see a True Gaming inscription, and lots of black/red toned grilles appear on the back of the handheld, not to mention the MSI Dragon logo, which we might also get with RGB LED lighting.

Initially, there was some question as to which APU MSI might be using, as the teaser video embedded from Instagram doesn’t reveal this. The two options are self-explanatory: either an AMD Ryzen APU or an Intel Meteor Lake APU could be in the machine. So don’t expect a dedicated graphics card (or graphics chip), because on the one hand it would make the device much bigger, and on the other hand it would significantly increase the power consumption, which the machine’s unknown battery size wouldn’t last very long.

Except that Intel Gaming responded to MSI on Twitter, so it’s likely to be one of the Intel Core Ultra models in the handheld PC. We also got the look of the machine leaked, courtesy of @wxnod. So MSI’s announcement, which we’ll have to wait a few days for, won’t be a big surprise, because we’ll know a few things before the official unveiling at CES. (There were also leaks about the Lenovo Legion Go before its unveiling; it’s a tradition!)

What is certain is that Valve started a major revolution in the hardware market with the Steam Deck, which has seen several more powerful devices released over the past few years.
