Jonathan Majors Finally Speaks: Here’s What He Thinks About Being Kicked Out Of The MCU!

MOVIE NEWS – Marvel Studios and Jonathan Majors have parted ways after he was convicted of assault and harassment. He spoke publicly for the first time since…

Jonathan Majors has spoken about his conviction for assault and harassment and how it has affected him and his career. Majors was arrested in March 2023 on assault charges. He was convicted of assault and harassment in December. Marvel Studios dropped the actor almost immediately and has not yet detailed its future plans for the character. Majors has so far refrained from making public statements.

Speaking to ABC News Live, Majors spoke about his behaviour, reaction to the jury’s decision, and its aftermath.

Majors maintains that the verdict is inconsistent with the evidence. He explained to ABC host Linsey Davis:

“I’m standing there, and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?'”

The trial centred on an altercation between Majors and his girlfriend at the time, Grace Jabbari. In the process, Jabbari saw a message from another woman on Majors’s phone and took the device from her. What happened next is up for debate. Jabbari claims the actor grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her back, causing cuts, bruises and a broken finger. Majors claims that the attack did not happen and that he did not cause his injuries, explaining that:

“That did not happen. I wish to God I knew [how the injuries actually happened]. That would give clarity. That would give me some type of peace about it.”

He later added:

“I’m an athlete. I’m a sportsman. I know my body. I know how it moves. I know my strength, or lack thereof, you know? None of that was employed on her.”

Majors says it was “like the world stopped” when he heard the news about losing Kang’s role. He seems optimistic if he thinks he’ll ever act again in Hollywood, saying, “Heck yeah, I do. I pray I do.”

Jabbari’s attorney spoke on his behalf in response to Majors’ statements, stating:

“It is not at all surprising that Mr. Majors continues to take no accountability for his actions. The timing of these new statements demonstrates a clear lack of remorse for the actions…”

The segment from Good Morning America can be viewed in its entirety at the end of this article.

How is Marvel Studios moving forward after parting ways with Jonathan Majors?

It’s unclear what Marvel Studios plans to do now that it has dropped Majors. Kang has already appeared in two MCU projects (The most recent Ant-Man movie and the Loki series.). He would be the titular villain of Avengers 2026 (The Kang Dynasty).

The easiest solution seems to be to recast Kang and continue as planned, but the studio may want to distance themselves from the character given his relationship with Jonathan Majors.

However, it’s also possible that the MCU will move on from Kang. The rest of the Multiverse saga may focus on a new big bad. Marvel Studios has reportedly dropped the term “Kang Dynasty” from internal Avengers 5 communications. But the change of address was not made official. According to earlier rumours, Marvel Studios executives were already considering sidelining Kang after the character was not well received in the last Ant film. Majors’ conviction may encourage them to return to those discussions. With only Deadpool 3 coming out in 2024 for the MCU, the studio has time to consider options.
