Classic The Legend Of Zelda Game Coming To Nintendo Switch?!

The Legend of Zelda fans can finally get their hands on one of the long-awaited Switch remakes…

Within the video game industry, there aren’t many franchises as big and beloved as The Legend of Zelda. Whether it’s a new game, a remake or a remaster, fans can never get enough of the adventures of Link and Princess Zelda.

The latest game in the series is 2023’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.

Now, fans are wondering what the next stop in the series will be, with many hoping for the release of the remake or remaster that has been rumoured for years.

Remakes and remasters that fans would love to see ported to the Nintendo Switch are none other than The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. These were initially released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube and in 2006 for the Wii. However, both titles have already seen HD remasters for the Wii U. Could this be why Nintendo is apparently reluctant to release a more modern one?

Back in 2021, there were reports in various video game media that both The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess would receive new remasters for the Nintendo Switch later that year. Unfortunately, it has now been three years, and the release is still not in sight.

Could it be something from The Legend of Zelda remakes?!

However, fans are still hoping that these remasters will arrive soon. It is believed that Nintendo may have been holding off on these releases for years.

Redditor DrAwesomeX shared a tweet from industry insider MbKKssTBhz5, which may indicate that, at least in terms of Twilight Princess, a Nintendo Switch remaster is in the works, but hasn’t been released yet.

“There is a project at Nintendo with the codename Edward,” tweeted MbKKssTBhz5. “This might be related to the rumours of a new Zelda series title.”

Then, when a follower suggested that the secret project might be Twilight Princess, MbKKssTBhz5 replied, “I do not know why Nintendo is not releasing it yet.”

Of course, this is very little, but according to some, this is a hint that the Twilight Princess remaster could actually be released as early as 2021. But Nintendo might be waiting to launch it on the Switch 2.

If this is Nintendo’s strategy, it certainly makes sense.

They know that fans are desperate for a remaster of The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and if both are ready now, it means that the hype can be capitalized on with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Hopefully, Nintendo will announce the remakes sooner rather than later. In the meantime, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess can still be played on systems like the Nintendo GameCube, Wii, and Wii U.
