Final Fantasy IX Remake: An Insider May Have Leaked When Will The Game Be Announced?!

The Final Fantasy IX remake could be coming sooner than we thought…

It is tough to decide which episodes of the Final Fantasy series we consider to be our biggest favourites. Since almost every part is excellent, we can rightfully call any of them the closest to us. Those who loved Final Fantasy IX at the time now have some exciting news.

Initially released in 2000, Final Fantasy IX is the ninth main instalment in Square Enix’s long-running series, and according to the latest rumours, it may be getting an official remake.

Now, according to SEGA/Atlas leakster ‘Midori’, development on the FFIX remake is progressing well. If all is true, Square Enix could officially announce the title before April 2025.

This comes a month after Midori claimed that the remake was indeed in the works. Now, thanks to the infamous leaker, we have more information about the project.

According to the leaker, the remake was initially outsourced. However, development was delayed as Square Enix was unhappy with the way things were going.

However, according to their claim, the development is “very far along” for now.

They do not have an exact release date. However, it is believed that the title could be released before the end of Square Enix’s current fiscal year. The latter will end on March 31, 2025.

“But I do not have any firm information on the scope of this title or a firm release period right now,” he said.

Midori also added that more information about the Final Fantasy IX remake could be revealed at the upcoming Xbox Showcase. The latter will be broadcast on June 9.

“There are plans for new information on some SQEX titles at the Xbox Showcase,” they claimed.

“I don’t know if this title will be at the showcase. So it is good to keep expectations low right now.”

FFIX, whose remake is rumoured to be coming to multiple platforms, is considered by many to be one of the best games in the Final Fantasy series. Even though it was first released more than twenty years ago, its fan base is still eagerly waiting for the rumoured remake to happen.
