If true, Ghost of Tsushima 2 could be Sony’s worst-kept secret…
We hear more and more about the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. According to Geoff Keighley, we can expect quite a few big reveals at this Friday’s Summer Game Fest. Just when you think the event is coming to an end, the host promises “one more thing.” It’s not uncommon for this to often be the most exciting announcement of the night.
Friday’s event is said to focus mainly on the already-announced titles, but there’s no doubt that Keighley still has something good in store for the end.
However, at last week’s State of Play, we got a “one more thing” surprise in the form of the Astro Bot. The upcoming PS5 platformer completely stole the show, which admittedly wasn’t that difficult. The announcement of a possible Tsushima sequel would probably prove to be an even bigger sensation.
Ghost of Tsushima 2 is starting to feel like PlayStation’s worst-kept secret
Several job postings by Sucker Punch have hinted at a Ghost of Tsushima sequel in recent years. Then, of course, there’s that mysterious “Live From PS5” marketing campaign that debuted last year.
It featured several announced PS5-exclusive games, with the only exceptions being footage resembling Uncharted and what appeared to be a snippet of Ghost of Tsushima 2.
Well, Sony might still be trying to keep the existence of a sequel under wraps. But leakers say this is a difficult task. ComicBook reports that Daniel Richtman (aka DanielRPK) is the latest to claim that he “can confirm a Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in the works.”
Richtman does not provide any further evidence, so this information should be treated with caution. Regardless, he’s a reliable professional, and a Tsushima sequel is widely considered highly likely.
Maybe a sequel will pop up during the Summer Game Fest? This is not entirely out of the question. However, it is more likely to be unveiled at a PlayStation event later this year.
For now, let’s wait and see what Friday brings.
